Temple & Hogsette Law Group Honors Florence County’s First Responders of the Year at Statehouse

Temple & Hogsette Law Group hosted the recognition of 13 outstanding first responders during the annual “First Responders of the Year” ceremony held at the South Carolina Statehouse. This distinguished recognition celebrates the exceptional service of deputies and police officers from the City and County of Florence, firefighters, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources officers, Florence Regional Airport security personnel, and South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers from Troop 5.

For the 16th consecutive year, Temple & Hogsette Law Group has honored these individuals whose courage, professionalism, and commitment safeguard the Florence County community each day. The tradition was long hosted by the late Florence Senator Hugh Leatherman and continues today with the support of the Florence County legislative delegation, including Representative Wallace H. “Jay” Jordan, Representative Phillip D. Lowe, and Senator Mike Reichenbach, who now host the ceremony at the Statehouse.

Each honoree is nominated by their supervisor and selected based on exemplary service, leadership, and dedication to protecting the citizens of Florence County.

The Statehouse event includes formal recognition by members of the South Carolina General Assembly, a guided tour of the historic Statehouse, and a private luncheon with members of the Florence County legislative delegation. Each honoree receives a commemorative certificate recognizing their outstanding service and dedication to the citizens of Florence County.
